Let's Get Rich and Buy Our Parents Homes In The South of France!

I just have to state that I CAN'T believe that this was the last weekend trip of the year.. where has this year gone! It was such a bittersweet moment when we were driving back into Florence after a beautiful weekend in the South of France and we all came to the realization that this was the last time we would be packing our lives into tiny suit cases until the time comes to back our last year into a couple of big suitcases! But, regardless of the emotions we all felt... the weekend was beautiful and fun.

It all started on Thursday with a nice long bus ride to the South of France. We drove along the coast of Italy, which was absolutely beautiful! I wish I could have explored that area more in my time here, but I guess its more reason to come back. We got into Nice at around 1030... just in time to get some vino for a last weekend toast on the beach! The little moments in Europe are truly the best ones. The next morning we had a walking tour of Nice which was beautiful! We climbed to the top of the lookout and got to see the coast line on one side and the harbor with the massive yachts on the other side. It was also a lovely 70 degrees outside.. which was absolutely fabulous. We then spent the afternoon on the beach! So pretty! So warm! So nice to spend time with my friends during the end of the journey! That night a few of us found this cute restraunt and then came back and were in bed by 12. Day drinking and sun call for an early evening!

The next day we had a day trip to Aix En Provence! That town is exactly what I imagine cute French towns to be like. There were markets all over, beautiful colored flowers, pastries, and lavender everywhere! It was sooo hot there too, so while some people did the walking tour, a couple of us chose to just explore on our own, and managed to go shopping and enjoy a little bit of France. We came back to Nice just in time to go to pizza, which was thick just like America, which was a wierd moment for all of us. We spent the evening on the beach, which was a perfect last night of our travels.

The next day we left, but not before we made a quick stop in Monaco. It was cold and grey there so it wasn't as nice to explore. We did get to see some MASSIVE yachts in the harbor. The bus ride back would have been more enjoyable if someone didn't puke and we didn't have to spend 6 hours with the smell. But, all in all, it was a pretty fabulous end to the travels. I can't believe I'm almost home... its been a wild ride.
