Girl, You Got Me Trippin' On Sunshine

This weekend was the verrry long anticipated trip to the Amalfi Coast...! It was my first time down South, and from what I saw, I want more. It helped that the weather was in the 70s all weekend which made it just about heaven. We left Florence at 630 on Thursday night, and settled in for a nice, looong bus ride, including a stop in Rome to pick up 20 more students. We finally made it to Sorrento at 3 in the morning... so needless to say we were ready for bed. We stayed in these absolutely adorable bungalows, surrounded by lemon and orange groves, complete with hammocks.. they were to die for.

Friday was Capri day... which was one of the places I told myself I had to go before I left Italy. I have been in love with this island since I watched Giuliana and Bill Rancic get married there on Married Away at the beginning of my senior year in high school. So, I was definitly excited for the day. We got up early and headed for the Marina in order to catch out ferry. Once we made it to the island, we were all set for out hike to the top of Capri. We started the haul with a grueling set of stairs to the center of the island. That was only the beginning. After a short rest in the center, we began our hike to the top, which turned out to be a steep, hour long, constant uphill battle towards the top. It was the hardest hike I have ever done. My legs weren't tall enough for most of the rocks, so it made it extra challenging, but the view alone at the top made it worth while. After the hike we made our way to the Blue Grotto, which was an extra 2 hours of walking only to find the Blue Grotto closed, which was a major bust. We then took the bus back to AnaCapri, to take the 1000 Venetian stairs back to the Marina. Boy was that tough on the knees. Once we made it to the Marina, we found our long sought after Original Sailor sweatshirts and got our Caprese Sandwhiches which were on another level amazing. We then headed back to the bungalos for apertivos with Father Bruno and an early bedtime... were willld.

The next day began in Naples aka the old stomping grounds of mine and Nat's favorite New Joisy housewife Theresa and Juicy Joe... or the armpit of Italy. Naples was disgusting and dirty, but we wanted the pizza from eat pray love... so it was totally worth it. Morgs, Tana, and i ditched the tour early to get our pizza, so we got to sit in the most famous pizza place in the world. The pizza was bamb.. and we got to dine with Jules. Then it was back to Sorrento and off to Positano. The bus to Positano is dangerrrous... its completely jam packed and it hugs the coast curves pretty tight... but Positano was absolutely worth it! It is probably top 3 favorite citites in Italy... maybe Europe! It was amazing... and the 70 degrees beach weather and lemon slush made it magnificent! We headed back to Sorrento at sunset, which was gorge! We then made a huge salad in our bungalow, and headed to bed... wildddd childs.

Sunday was departure day... with a stop in Pompei... which was coo to see the ancient ruins of the city. It was a maze in the city and I was ready to be in Flo at the end of it... but we had to deal with a loooong bud ride before that... but now I'm back in Flo, not quite wrapping my mind over the end of this all...
